Norwood Secondary College is proud to have served the local community for more than 60 years, on the land of the Wurundjeri people, who are the traditional custodians of this land. In this time, the College has established an outstanding reputation as a provider of educational excellence.
Whilst we are a college that values our rich heritage and traditions, we remain committed to innovation and the provision of a forward-thinking curriculum. First and foremost, we seek to educate students at their point of need, in a way that not only extends their learning but fosters their curiosity to be life-long learners. Our staff are passionate, committed and take great pride in nurturing the talents, interests and ambitions of our students.
Not only do we value the rich learning environment within the classroom, but we place high importance in the learning that takes place outside the walls of a traditional classroom space. Our students are strongly encouraged to be the very best versions of themselves and explore opportunities in the varied co-curricular program. The talents and interests of students in the areas of visual and performing arts, outdoor education, music performance and on the sporting-field are nurtured and valued.
Underpinning the educational experience at Norwood are the 4 core College values of:
Respect
Aspiration
Responsibility
Resilience
We take our role seriously in ensuring that when our students graduate from the College, that they leave as articulate, competent and passionate young adults, ready to make their own contribution socially, economically and culturally to society; equipped with the values to really make a difference in our world. Our values underpin all that we do and are central to providing the best education experience for all students.
Students are proud to attend Norwood Secondary College and we are proud of them. We are grateful to be part of their journey as they develop into confident, resilient and intellectually curious young adults.
